Our research and innovation activities will generate new knowledge about the needs of our clients and how to optimise their health and care experience.
To advance our ambition to create better home care for all Australians, we are designing the next generation of care with the support of our generous donors across the community.
Our dedicated Research and Innovation team focuses on translational best practice research and the co-design of innovative home care that improves equity and access. This strategic priority, known as Future Care, demonstrates our commitment to leadership in care at home. It enables us to contribute to national and international learnings on best practice, policy, and funding.
Our approach
There are three Future Care focus areas to improve the client health and care experience:
- Optimise: We work in partnership with our care teams, academic researchers, and clients to improve our services through evaluation and knowledge translation.
- Innovate: We design, test, evaluate, and implement new and innovative ways to deliver our services.
- Discover: We conduct academic research to generate new knowledge on the needs of our clients and how we can better support them.
We aim to improve our current services through robust evaluation and to create new models of care through the translation of new knowledge, developing and testing new products, services, and technologies. Our approach also ensures new models of care address known learnings, gaps, and opportunities.
How we work
Under our Future Care strategy, we collaborate with leaders across the health and aged care system, consumers, industry, government and academics to:

- Advocate for the benefit of Australians accessing home care.
