We understand that diversity and inclusion not only enrich our care teams but also improve the quality of our services.

Our goal at Silverchain is to make sure everyone has equal access to jobs, health care, and aged care services that meet their needs.

We welcome people from all walks of life. We believe everyone deserves the right to be cared for at home, or in a safe place if home isn't possible.

We understand that for care to be accessible we need to address barriers by being flexible and responsive to each person’s unique circumstances. This can include making reasonable adjustments, providing language support and interpreting services, and ensuring that our communications are clear and accessible.

How we will deliver Universal Access

Our Access and Inclusion Action plan is a key part in ensuring that people with and people without disabilities can access the care that they would like. Through this plan we seek to identify and address practices that might result in conscious or unconscious discrimination against people with disability and respect of their rights. Our plan outlines how we will build and embed inclusive practices, systems, and processes that enable people from all backgrounds to thrive. Work for us

Silverchain teams are diverse and represent the communities where we live and work. Teams are made up of a broad range of lived experiences that foster creativity and innovation. We encourage people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, as well as people with and without disabilities, to join our team. Access to health care

Our commitment to Universal Access goes beyond following rules and laws; it is at the heart of everything we do at Silverchain to improve our practices to create a better home care system for all Australians.

Partnerships

We’re a proud member of the Australian Network on Disability. By working with other members, we’re learning how to make our services more accessible for everyone. This means making sure our buildings, policies, and practices work for people with different abilities. We want everyone to get the quality of care they deserve.

Commitment to learning and growth in universal access

We acknowledge that providing accessible care to our diverse communities is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to:

  • Learning directly from people with disabilities and people from different cultural communities about their care experiences, needs and preferences.
  • Building disability confidence and awareness throughout Silverchain.
  • Supporting self determination and choice in care decisions.
  • Building cross cultural communication skills.
  • Ensuring our workforce reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
