Silverchain created the first palliative care at home services in the early 1980s, because our nurses understood the importance of being able to receive the right support at home and be in a more comfortable and familiar surrounding. Today, our Silverchain care teams provide support for nearly 5,000 people each year at the end of their life.

Clara and Kirsty's story: giving families quality time together
For more than 27 years, Kirsty worked as an education assistant. She poured her heart into caring for children and found great joy in helping them learn, grow and thrive.
At just 63 years old she was diagnosed with cancer and Clara stepped in to be her carer. Like many family carers, Clara was trying to balance her mum's wish to remain at home with the responsibility of making sure she received the care she needed when her health changed.
